To understand the toll of crisis on humanity, one may look at the gory details of international crisis events like the first and second World wars, Rwanda Genocide or localized events like the Boko Haram crisis. Peace is cheap, far cheaper than the costs in properties and human lives often associated with crisis situations.
It is with this belief that the Centre for Crisis Prevention and Peace Advocacy (CCPPA) will be setting out on the 24th September 2013 for the last phase of it Workshops on Peace, to be held within the North-East and North-Central states of Nigeria.
The workshops will follow through on earlier workshops held within the North-western states. CCPPA is collaborating with the Arewa Citizens Action for Change (ACAC) with technical support from the United States Institute of Peace (USIP).
The workshops are designed on a Train the Trainer strategy whereby trainees will be equipped with the knowledge requisite for crisis prevention and management as well as techniques for peace advocacy. Trainees will be expected to form Community Peace Clubs in their communities as a means for disseminating the knowledge acquired.
Join us as we pay a cheap price for peace so that we may avoid the heavy costs of crisis.
